Sequoyah softball 6, Meigs Co. 2

Sequoyah bested Meigs County behind RBIs from Maycee Bovard, Kadence Brewer, Olivia Underwood, Kinsey Phenix and Tristan Bradley. Bradley pitched the entire game, allowing just one earned run and three walks and striking out seven batters.

Tuesday

Sweetwater baseball 2, Meigs Co. 0

The Wildcats defeated the Tigers at home with a complete game effort by Matthew Cooper. The senior also contributed offensively, going 2-for-3 at the plate.

“(Cooper) pitched outstanding with good defense behind him … I was proud of the way we came out and set the tone of the game on defense and battled all night,” Sweetwater head coach Chris Armstrong said.

Sweetwater soccer 3, Harriman 1

Two goals were the difference for the Wildcats, who notched the victory on the road.

Tellico Plains soccer 0, Sale Creek 1

The Bears fell to Sale Creek, dropping the road match in a close one-goal contest.

Sequoyah soccer 7, McMinn Central 0

The Chiefs’ offense exploded against the Chargers, with Sequoyah scoring four goals in less than 10 minutes of game clock and recording the win over the Division 7-AA opponent.

Wednesday

Sweetwater baseball 2, Meigs Co. 0

The Wildcats produced an individual win in both the second and third innings to top Meigs County halfway through the week.

Thursday

Sequoyah softball 12, Bradley Central 6

The Lady Chiefs had no problem on offense, producing double-digit runs to best Bradley Central on the road. Olivia Underwood and Abbey Borden both led Sequoyah with three RBIs each.

Kadence Brewer pitched 4.2 innings for the Lady Chiefs, allowing eight hits, no earned runs and one walk and notching two strikeouts. Tristan Bradley threw 2.1 innings, allowing three hits, two earned runs and four walks and striking out two batters as well.

Sweetwater soccer 2, East Ridge 1

The Wildcats bested East Ridge on the road, using just a one-goal differential to take home the victory.
