Man charged with selling drugs in school zone

Published: 7:57 AM, 06/16/2008 Last updated: 8:11 AM, 06/16/2008

Michael Dewayne Hall, 48, Blue Sky Drive, Maryville, was arrested on Thursday and charged with sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic (crack cocaine) in a school zone. Vonore police officers set up a controlled drug buy with Hall. Police Chief John Hines paid Hall $200 for a plastic bag containing crack cocaine and then arrested him.

This was not the first time VPD bought drugs from Hall. On June 7, Hines paid Hall $220 for a plastic bag containing crack cocaine and a .22 caliber rifle. During that deal, Hall told Hines he could also sell him a pistol and some marijuana.
