AYSO Registration

AYSO soccer registration for the fall season will be held on July 12 and July 19 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. in front of Wal-Mart.

The cost will be $40 per player. AYSO is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 14.

Tellico Plains Basketball Camp

Tellico Plains’ “Fundamentals of Basketball” camp will be held July 7, 8, 10, and 11 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Tellico Plains Junior High School gym.

The camp is for boys and girls enter grades four through eight. The camp cost $35, and $25 for each additional sibling.

The camp will teach players dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive skills while also allowing the campers to put those skills to use with 3-on-3, 4-on-4, and 5-on-5 games.

Each camper will receive a t-shirt, an evaluation sheet, and a list of drills to practice at home.

Tellico Softball Tryouts

Tellico Plains will be holding tryouts for a fall league team for girls in sixth, seventh, and eight grades on Tuesday, July 1 at 5 p.m.

The tryouts will be held at the Tellico Plains High School softball field.

Southeastern Championship Wrestling

Southeastern Championship Wrestling will be returning to the Tellico Plains High School gym on June 21 at 8 p.m.

Admission is $9 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-15, and kids 5 years old and younger are admitted free.

Six matches are scheduled in the fundraiser for Tellico Plains athletics.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Fishing Tournament

There will be a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fishing tournament June 21 from 7 a.m. to noon at Kefauver Park in Madisonville.

The Bill McSpadden Fishing Tournament for Team Jonathan is sponsored by Seaton Enterprises and the Madisonville Police Department.

There is no entry fee. The pond at Kefauver is going will be stocked with catfish.

There will be tagged fish, for example a $100 fish, a $50 fish, etc. Mayfield's has also donated ice cream that will be given away to the children.

Individuals or teams can sponsor a fishing hole for $50. Each hole will have a flag with the sponsor(s) name.

Vonore Football Sign-ups

Vonore Youth Sports will be conducting football and cheerleading sign-ups on Saturday, June 21 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Vonore Elementary School gym.

Sign-up fees are $35 per child or $70 per family.

AYSO Swim Party

Sweetwater AYSO is having a swimming party on Saturday, June 21 from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the Sweetwater pool for all Sweetwater AYSO fall and spring season players.

Aaron Green Basketball Camp

University of Tennessee assistant basketball coach Aaron Green will host his annual camp at Hiwassee College July 14-17.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-15. Camp cost is $75 if pre-registered and $85 at the door.

Registration for Sweetwater AYSO’s fall league will be held Saturday, July 26 and Saturday, Aug. 2 from 10 a.m.-3p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Sweetwater.

Madisonville Sports & Civics Club will be having football sign-ups at Kefauver Football Field this Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.

All first year players need to bring a copy of your birth certificate.

Tellico Plains Alumni Center

Tellico Plains High School needs your help.

When the Alumni Center is finished TPHS will have a place where all past alumni can relive their glory days and students of today can learn about Tellico High School history.

There will also be a state of the art weight room where the present and future athletes can train to make their own history.

Help in finishing the Alumni Center. Become an Alumni Booster member or make a donation.
