Under the USTA guidelines, a percentage of the repair costs can be obtained through a grant from the national organization. The remaining funds must come from local sources.
The recently announced TLTA Novice Junior Tennis Tournament, to be conducted July 11 – 13, will donate proceeds from the tournament to this project.
Additionally, Prince and other tennis racquets will be on sale at the tournament with those proceeds going to support the project. Michelle Builderback has recently been selected as USTA’s Volunteer of the Month for her outstanding involve in area tennis programs.
She has organized the Brown School Program and played on a Women’s 4.0 team locally and at the recent State Championships in Chattanooga. She has proven herself to be the right person to undertake this significant tennis project for the improvement of the community.
Sponsors for the tournament and donors for the project are being sought. Those who would like to contribute or become involved with the project should contact Michelle at 423 404-5100.
