A con man who has been sitting in jail for more than a year still doesn't know how long he will have to stay behind bars.

Todd Sweet, 36, was scheduled to be sentenced Monday in Monroe County Criminal Court, but his attorney, Bob Jolley, asked for a delay, saying he wasn't ready.

Jolley said a pre-sentencing report was filed June 17, then had an addendum added June 19, less than the 10 days the law says he has to study the report before his client is sentenced.

Judge Carroll Ross granted the request and rescheduled the sentencing for Aug. 24.
