It's time for my annual "The year is half over column."
Didn't I just do that about three months ago?
I can't believe how fast this year is going.

Marie will have me on top of the house in about four months, putting up Christmas lights!!
I had better start thinking of an excuse not to get up there.
In a few short weeks, we'll begin to see if Lane Kiffin is all mouth or has a little substance.
Truth is, Vol fans probably can't put too much hope into this season given the quarterback situation, however you never know.

But we have a long, hot summer to go before that.
So far this year, we've got Obama settled in as president and chief fly killer.
The rest of the nation's time has been spent worrying about Jon and Kate.
I am writing my column before their big "announcement."

I can only hope Jon and Kate will announce they are no longer going to do their reality show. I probably won't get that lucky.
Marie and I need to figure out a way to exploit our child.
"Tommy and Marie Plus One" we can call it.

We plan to air the show beginning in September if we can get a buyer.
I've been on "staycation" this week so hopefully things have not been too bad for Mike and Mia.
And if they have, well, maybe they deserve it...just kidding!
