A woman who was arrested after a form of methamphetamine called "ice" was found in her house more than a year ago received a 16-year sentence after pleading guilty in Monroe County Criminal Court this week.
Julia Austin, 25, was arrested in September 2008 after the Monroe County Sheriff's Office learned there was drug activity at her Toomey Lane home.
Monroe County Detective Conway Mason said officers executed a search warrant at the house and found a blue pouch inside the main bathroom that contained approximately a quarter ounce of methamphetamine called "Ice."
Officers also found a glass-smoking pipe that had tan stains inside consistent with the use of methamphetamine, along with 29 1/2 roxycodone pills.
In the master bedroom, they found a loaded handgun and a set of digital scales.
Austin pleaded guilty to sale of methamphetamine, for which she received a $2,000 fine and five years; sale of Oxydocone, $2,000 fine and five years; and two counts sale of morphine, $2,000 fine and three years each count.
Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime were dismissed.
Austin's sentence will be served on probation. She received credit for 2 1/2 months spent in jail.

John Edward Dawson, 40, Old Mine Road, Sweetwater, sale of cocaine under .5 grams, $3,000, eight years at 30 percent; two counts sale of a schedule III narcotic, $3,000 and $2,000 fines, four years at 30 percent each count; sell of cocaine, $2,000, eight years at 30 percent.
Jeffrey Paul Hill, 36, Benjamin Drive, Madisonville, aggravated assault, four years suspended; two counts theft, 11/29 suspended each count; simple possession of marijuana, $350, 11/29 suspended; possession of drug paraphernalia, $150, 11/29 suspended.
Joseph Perry Wall, 27, Highway 360, Vonore, violation of the habitual motor vehicle offenders law, one year suspended, lose license for three years.
Brian Reese Edwards, 43, Harrill Street, Madisonville, theft of property $10,000-$60,000, five years suspended, make restitution of $32,815; theft of property $1,000-$10,000, three years suspended, make restitution of $3,300.
Darrell B. Graves, 36, Hooper Road, Tellico Plains, sale of a schedule II narcotic, $2,000, three years suspended; two counts sale of a schedule IV narcotic, $2,000, two years suspended each count.
Rick W. Rentz, 19, Lincoln Drive, Madisonville, robbery, three years suspended after 90 days.
Ryan William Monger, 24, West Highway 70, Loudon, facilitation to sell and deliver a schedule III narcotic, $2,000, two years suspended.
