Sweetwater Police investigators have charged a Knoxville man with aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after he allegedly robbed the Wil-Sav pharmacy for prescription drugs at gunpoint around lunchtime Monday.

Sweetwater Police captured the suspect, 56-year-old Edgar Eugene Fraker of Knoxville, just moments after he allegedly walked into Wil-Sav with a loaded .380-caliber handgun and demanded bottles of OxyContin pills.

No one was injured during the holdup, SPD Public Information Officer Kenny Wilkins said.
SPD Sgt. John Brewster, who was on patrol in the area, spotted the suspect's white getaway truck speeding through the parking lot near the Subway just a few hundred feet from Wil-Sav.
Brewster stopped the truck and was soon assisted by SPD Officer Jim Kile and the Monroe  County Sheriff's Office along with other SPD officers.

Police said they found five bottles of OxyContin pills in the truck, the loaded gun under the seat and the cap and sunglasses the suspect wore matching the description given by store employees and relayed by 911 dispatchers.
According to the warrants SPD Detective Bill Illingworth filed against the suspect, Fraker admitted to committing the holdup.

Sweetwater Police Chief Eddie Byrum commended the staff at Wil-Sav for their actions during this incident and said he is very thankful no one was injured.
Byrum commended Brewster and Kile for the quick apprehension of the suspect and the quick response of the 911 Center.
