MADISONVILLE-A Monroe County inmate who was on the run for a week in October had his escape charge sent to a Monroe County Grand Jury last week, but another charge was dismissed.

Ricky Gennoe, 36, disappeared from a work detail at Hiwassee College on Oct. 16. Nobody's really denying that, but the way he left came under question in Monroe County General Sessions Court Tuesday.

Law enforcement officers say Gennoe left in a truck that belonged to Hiwassee College, but Judge Reed Dixon said the state didn't provide enough proof that just because Gennoe and the truck disappeared at the same time, that Gennoe was in the truck.
