MIDWAY-  The Lady Bears traveled to Midway Tuesday night and brought home a win. Head coach Gary Tucker's team had a strong defensive start with steals from Brittany Kirkland and Bailey Hunt but the ladies couldn't get the ball to fall in the first frame.  Jasmine Harris opened the second with a bucket followed by Tori McMinn's 3-pointer putting the Lady Bears up 14-12.

Midway 's Jesse Lewis and Abby Bertram added points pushing the Green waves in the lead.  The Lady Bears answered when McKinley Dalton, Brayden Garren and McMinn would all make shots in the paint and draw fouls. This gave the Lady Bears a 27-18 lead heading to the locker room.

Dalton opened the half scoring a jumper but Lady Bear fouls sent Midway's Lewis  to the line who made her free throws. Harris and Kirkland both added two in the quarter while Garren nailed a three bringing the score to 37 -27 in the middle of the third.  The Lady Bears showed great teamwork on a nice assist through three defenders from Harris to Dalton for an easy bucket.  Valerie Cheek scored on the next trip down the floor.

The fourth quarter was rough as fouls became more aggressive. Again, the Dalton and Harris duo found each other as Harris scored from a Dalton assist with 5:49 in the fourth making it 47-35.  Midway made a run and cut the lead within 5 points, but Cheek made a great defensive play then scored changing the momentum and ending the Midway scoring run. Harris would make her signature move and drive the lane and find the bucket plus a foul, sealing a 3 point play.

Midway's Bertram and Taylor Whitehead tried to keep the Green Waves hope alive and brought them in with reach at 49-53 with 1:47 in the game with Tellico only up by four. Rachel Sutton added a spark on defense for the Lady Bears as Harris and Garren sealed the game by putting in both of their free throws with seconds left leading them to victory 57-50 over Midway.
