MADISONVILLE-Madisonville Middle School
has received a clean bill of health from an air quality assessment.
The Monroe County Board of Education
voted in November to have an air quality and mold assessment study
completed at the middle school after a parent voiced concerns in the
fall that the old school may have a mold problem.
Parent Keith Morgan spoke to the School
Board in October about his daughter, an 11 year old who attends MMS.
Morgan said his daughter developed allergy and asthma problems after
beginning school there. Morgan eventually had to place his daughter
on home bound until her health problems could be resolved.
The mold assessment was conducted by
S&ME, Inc., out of Louisville, on Nov. 16 and 21.
"We gave them full access to the
school for two days," Maintenance Supervisor Charles Underwood told
the Board of Education on Thursday night.
