A Tellico Plains area woman who led a
Monroe County Sheriff's deputy on a chase the weekend after
Thanksgiving, was arrested over the weekÂend. She was picked up
by a Sheriff's Office capÂtain who knew she was wanted.
It was around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 when
Sgt. Ray Haynes said he attempted to stop a blue Toyota 4-Runner for
a busted taillight and an outdated regisÂtration. But the vehicle
chose not to stop and took off down Fairview Road.
Haynes said he actiÂvated his
emergency equipment and chased the 4-Runner down Fairview Road, and
onto Big Creek Road where the driver, later identiÂfied as Rhonda
Johnnie Duckett, Fairview Road, Tellico Plains, passed another car on
a double yellow line on a hill. See full story in the Wednesday, Jan. 9, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
