Sequoyah holds on to win over Meigs, 57-49

SEQUOYAH - The Lady Chiefs had to fight hard to defeat the Lady Tigers of Meigs County. Sequoyah jumped out to an early lead, and dominated for most of the game, leading by as many as 20 before Meigs mounted a comeback.  This was a huge win for Sequoyah as they sit just a game out of first place in 5-AA.

“We played hard. I told the girl's you just dominated a really good team. Meigs isn't a bad team at all,” said Lady Chiefs head coach Eddie Gambrelle.
Hunter Simpson led all scorers with 22 points. Emily Ingram chipped in with 15 points of her own. Laura Whited scored seven, while Savana Atchley netted five. Kassidi Freeman scored four and grabbed seven rebounds. Chancey Welshan fnished with four points on the night.
