Police both had routine calls turn into drug related busts Tuesday. Madisonville Patrolman David Wear said he saw a silver Mitsubishi run the red light at the
intersection of Main and College streets Tuesday night and pulled the car over. The driver of the car, Russell Tallent, couldn't provide proof of
insurance, but did give permission to search his car. While
looking through the vehicle, Wear said he found lithium batteries, lighter fuel, foil and rubber
hosing, items that can be used in the making of methamphetamine. Wear said an investigation revealed the items were packaged to be sold for other illegal
items. Tallent, Red Bud Drive, Sweetwater, was charged with promoting the manufacture of
methamphetamine. See full story in the
