Sweetwater High School students will
soon be casting lines and baiting hooks.
At the Feb. 14 School Board, meeting of
the Monroe County Board of Education, Principal David Watts discussed
started a Fishing Club at the school. By board policy, the school
does not need permission to create a club, but Watts said he wanted
the School Board's "blessing."
"We're very blessed with a lot of
water to cover here," said Watts, noting that there would be a
curriculum with the club. "It would teach students how to take care
of these resources that we have here in Monroe County."
Watts said there are parents that are
actively pursuing the club and want to be involved with their
children. See full story in the Wednesday, Feb. 20, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
