SWEETWATER-Building repairs dominated a short Sweetwater Mayor and Board of Commissioners regular workshop Monday.

The Sweetwater Public Library has a leaky roof and there are issues under the floor at the Heritage Museum.

Commissioners have questioned whose responsibility it is to fix the roof at the library, wondering out loud if the Library Board can use its trust. The commission has been told by board members that fund cannot be used to fix the roof.

City Attorney John Cleveland said the city needs to get a copy of the trust if it does not have one and then make sure it knows what the stipulations are. Street Commissioner Buster West said if the city owns the building and has the deed, the obligation seems clear.

"It's an obligation," he said. "It's our building. If we've got a problem, we need to fix it. I don't see any way around that."
