Chota Community Health Services’ “Operation Vaccination” recently held a drive-through COVID-19 vaccination event to encourage people to continue the fight against the pandemic.

On Saturday, April 10, CCHS set up at Madisonville Primary School to provide Monroe County community members a free, single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

On the day of the event, CCHS administered 525 vaccines to individuals from Monroe County and the surrounding area. According to officials, “it was a very successful event.”

CCHS officials also sent out a “special thank you to our staff and members of the community who were instrumental in the success of this event.”

The community members who took part in making the event happen include:

• Monroe County School Board of Education for allowing them to use the Madisonville Primary School parking lot and facilities.

• Madisonville Police Department who provided many hours assisting in the setup of the event and traffic control during the event.

• Volunteers from Madisonville Presbyterian Church.

• Family and friends of CCHS staff.

CCHS is continuing to offer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at the Madisonville clinic. This vaccine is available to anyone 18 and older. Being a patient at CCHS is not required to receive the vaccine and the vaccine is free.
