A woman was arrested at Ingles Sept. 27 after she was spotted allegedly dragging newspaper machines around and screaming.

Madisonville Police Officer Jesse Moses said he went to the store on Highway 411 just after 4 a.m. and found Revonda Meadows in the parking lot. Moses said Meadows had her shirt off and was continuously stating she’d done nothing wrong.

When asked what she was doing, Meadows told Moses someone was chasing her and trying to shoot her and she had turned the paper racks over to protect herself. She said she then used another one to drag around and hide behind.

Moses then talked to the person who’d called the incident in and they said they had watched Meadows turn the machines over, screaming and taking her shirt off.

Moses said he saw two newspaper racks turned over and another that had been dragged in front of the Ingles doors.

He then arrested Meadows, 29, Niles Ferry Road, Madisonville, and charged her with vandalism.
