A man determined to get into an apartment was arrested by Vonore Police Nov. 11.

Officer Kevin Osborne said he went to Ellis Street around 12:30 p.m. on an unwanted person call and talked to a woman who said she was in Aurora Woods apartment when Jason Heatherly allegedly pushed a window air conditioner out of the window, sending it crashing to the floor.

The woman told Osborne she asked Heatherly to leave twice because she was afraid of what he might do. Heatherly said he wasn’t leaving until he got his stuff.

The woman said Heatherly eventually left and went a to an apartment a few doors away. Osborne said he found Heatherly and asked him to come outside to talk about the incident, but Heatherly took off running into the woods.

Osborne said Heatherly was found a few minutes later on Depot Street and taken into custody.

Heatherly, 24, Ellis Street, Vonore, was charged with aggravated burglary and evading arrest.
