A father-son fight Nov. 10 led to the son being arrested in Madisonville.

Madisonville Patrolman Andy Cline said he and other officers were sent to Ball Play Road on a family disturbance that was described as a father and son being in a fight. The caller to 911 also said the son was high on meth and punching the father in the face.

Cline said when officers arrived, they could hear yelling coming from the house. The officers went into the house and Cline made contact with the father, Troy William Goins, who said his son Derek Goins had hit him in the face with a cell phone and he wanted him out of his house.

Cline said officers found Derek Goins in the house and tried to detain him, but Goins refused to cooperate, fighting with officers until Officer David Kilby used his Taser to Subdue Goins.

Cline said Goins was then taken into custody.

Goins, 32, was charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest.
