Celebrate Recovery-Watts Bar Church

The Celebrate Recovery Community will meet at Watts Bar Church, located at 1517 State Highway 68 W in Decatur, on Thursday, Nov. 12. A free meal will be served at 6 p.m., followed by worship and large group at 6:45 p.m. Around 7:50, attendees will break into small groups. Small groups are divided into men's and women's groups and are safe places to give and receive positive support for individual needs. Child care is provided.

Free produce, bakery giveaway

The Food Pantry and Thrift Store of Tellico Plains will give away free produce and bakery items every Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at the gazebo in Town Square. For more information, call Diana Murphy at 423-295-5518.

Community Dinner

Watson Chapel Baptist Church, located at 140 Watson Chapel Road in Madisonville, will hold its 16th annual free Community Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 14 from noon until 2 p.m. This is a drive-thru event. Deliveries will be limited to shut-ins and the elderly. For more information, call 423-442-5459.

Family Craft Day at TPL

Tellico Plains Public Library will hold a Family Craft Day on Saturday, Nov. 14 from noon until 2 p.m. at the library. Everyone is invited to come out with their family to make keepsake ornaments for free.

Benefit for Dewayne Hollingshead

There will be a benefit fundraiser for Dewayne Hollingshead, who was injured in an accident recently and has undergone four surgeries, on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. at the Tellico Plains Community Center. Dewayne, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., does not have medical insurance and funds raised will go towards his medical bills. There will be plates of food (hotdogs, chips, dessert and drink) for sale for $6 each, in addition to a silent auction, singing by Crucified, and more. Sweetwater Celebrate Recovery will resume regular meetings beginning Monday, Nov. 16 at First Baptist Church, located at 303 Wright Street. Refreshments/meal begins at 6 p.m., followed by large group at 6:30 p.m. Small share groups will start around 7:30 p.m. Small groups are divided into men's and women's groups and are safe places to give and receive positive support for individual needs.

Poplar Bluff Missionary Baptist Church in Tellico Plains invites the community to a Thanksgiving meal on Saturday, Nov. 28 at noon at the Tellico Plains Community Center. The meal will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis.
