Adoration Hospice will host an Easter Celebration at its site in Sweetwater on Saturday, April 3.
The event will be open to the public, according to officials, in hopes of lifting spirits up during the pandemic.
Adoration Hospice is located on 717 New Highway 68 right across from Jackie Jones Ford.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. with plans to host an Easter Egg hunt for children as well as have photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.
The event will be free of charge and will also include snacks for the visitors.
“We are going to have popcorn, cookies and cupcakes,” Adoration Hospice Patient Care Consultant Ronald Boone said. “It is all free. We just wanted to do something for the community, especially with COVID being the way that it has been.”
He hopes this will establish a new sense of unity amongst local residents.
“We want this to bring the community together,” he expressed. “These kids need something fun instead of all of the negativity that has been circulating around the pandemic.”
The event will take place outside, giving plenty of space for people to social distance.
“We will also have hand sanitizer and masks available,” Boone noted.
Adoration officials hope this event will provide fun for the community.
“We just want everyone to come out and have a good time,” expressed Boone. “This is something that we wanted to do to give back to the community and that is the whole purpose for it being free, so we hope everyone will come out and enjoy themselves.”
