A Sweetwater man is facing a sexual battery charge after he allegedly went into a woman’s camper home and climbed in bed with her.
Sweetwater Police Det. John Scruggs said he talked to the alleged victim on Powell Avenue who said she had been staying in a camper behind Floyd Wesley Jenkins’ home for several days.
She told Scruggs that Jenkins awakened her the morning of May 17 by putting his hands on her back and grabbing her breasts. She said Jenkins got in bed with her, pulled his genitals out and said he wanted to have sex with her.
The woman said Jenkins stopped after awhile and started looking for something he’d lost and she took the opportunity to get her clothes on and left.
After she was gone, the woman said Jenkins came out and said he was going to “bust my car windows out” and that all of her things belonged to him now.
The woman called the police then and told them Jenkins had been sexually harassing her for about six months and she feels unsafe and uncomfortable around him.
Scruggs said Jenkins, 47, Powell Avenue, Sweetwater, was gone when officers arrived, but he is facing a charge of sexual battery.
