Two people were arrested after a truck was stolen outside of Three Point Market in Madisonville Feb. 11 in broad daylight.

Madisonville Police Det. Daniel Dockery said a man had parked his 2002 Toyota Tacoma at the store and went inside. While he was in the store, the man said he saw somebody drive off in the truck.

Dockery said he looked at security video footage from the store and saw a silver Infinity pull into the parking lot, a man get out of the backseat, get into the victim’s car and then both drove off in the same direction at 8:30 a.m.

Dockery said the Infinity came back registered to Briana West. West was found at a house on Sweetwater/Vonore Road were she allegedly admitted to removing a sticker from a rear window of the car that had been spotted on video in hopes of fooling the police.

Dockery said he interviewed West later and she said the passenger who drove off in the victim’s car was Joseph Daniel Young.

Officer Wes Martin then located the truck on Hull Road with Young in it. Young then confessed he’d taken the truck from Three Point Market.

Young, 22, Sweetwater/Vonore Road, Sweetwater, was charged with theft of property over $2,500.

West, 22, Sweetwater/Vonore Road, Sweetwater, was charged with theft of property over $2,500 and conspiracy to commit theft of property.
