Peoples Bank thanks Fleischmann

Peoples Bank of East Tennessee recognizes Congressman Chuck Fleischmann for his role in assisting the bank in obtaining approval as a lender for the Small Business Association’s Payroll Protection Program. With Fleischmann’s assistance, the bank was chosen to be one of the area’s approved lenders for the program and has originated $11.5 million in loans to more than 350 local business owners throughout the area. Collectively, this has helped provide paychecks to more than 2,000 employees. According to officials, these funds have had a positive impact for the small business owners, many who have been forced to shut down temporarily during this pandemic. “As a locally-owned community bank, we were pleased and honored to participate in a program that has helped so many during these difficult times,” said Peoples Bank President and CEO Chris White.
