Wilma Jean Sharpe Stein, age 72, of Sweetwater, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Sweetwater Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late George Parson Sharpe and Willie Merle Stephens Sharpe. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Adrianna Stein.
She was a native of Madisonville and graduated from Madisonville High School, Carson-Newman College and the University of Tennessee. She taught school at Chattanooga Baptist Academy, then in Sweetwater City Schools for 40 years. She was a member of the Tennessee Education Association (retired) and the First Presbyterian Church of Sweetwater.
Survivors include: her husband of 43 years, Larry Stein;
Daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Matthew Wolf, of Tampa, Florida;
Sons, Jonathan Stein, of Sweetwater, and Jason Stein, of San Bernardino, California;
Grandchildren, Trent Sitzlar, of Chattanooga, and Lucille Wolf and Sebastian Wolf, of Tampa, Florida;
Special friends, H.M. (Butch) McGuire, Anne Toomey, and Scobey and Shari Peterman, of Sweetwater.
The family received friends on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville. Graveside service and interment was at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Sunset Cemetery in Madisonville.
