Michael Owen Black, age 48, of Sweetwater, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2020. He was born on April 28, 1972. He was a loving son, father, uncle, nephew and friend. He was a devoted employee of Cleary Construction, Inc. in Tompkinsville, Kenkucky. He had a love for the Florida Gators and Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Ronnie Black; his brother, Timothy Latham; and his grandparents, Hugh and Helena Latham, and Bill and Fannie Black.
Survivors include: his mother, Teresa Black, of Madisonville;
His children, Jordan Black, of Loudon, Isiah Black, of Sweetwater, Kaiden Black and Cyron Black, both of Madisonville, and Sylas Black, of Tellico Plains;
Brother, Robert (Betty) Black, of Lehigh, Florida;
A host of aunts and uncles;
Nine nieces and nephews;
Seventeen great-nieces and great-nephews;
A lifelong “brother in a co-worker,” Tony (Possum) Meditz.
The family received friends on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from noon until 2 p.m. at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville. The funeral followed at 2 p.m. in the Biereley-Hale Chapel with Rev. Ivey Smith, Rev. Pamela Scruggs and Rebekah Latham officiating. Interment was at Park City Cemetery.
