Patricia Short Mitchell, age 84, of Madisonville, passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed cooking, sewing and church. She was a member of Notchey Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Wesley Mitchell; her father, Charles Russell Short; her mother, Cleo Hicks Short; her sister, Betty Jo Moffitt; and her special aunt, Charlotte Hicks Allen.
Survivors include: her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Steven and Luella Mitchell, and Bill and Shellie Mitchell;
Daughters and sons-in-law, Sherian and Doug Stephens, and Debbie and David McDaniel;
Grandchildren, Russell and Alysha Mitchell, Josh and Karen McDaniel, Robert Mitchell, Jordan Stephens and Bryce Mitchell;
Great-grandchildren, Abigail Lovingood, Lydia Rose McDaniel and Ily Ann Mitchell;
Special sister-in-law, Carrie Mae Mitchell Robbins;
Several nieces and nephews.
Friends could call between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2020, at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville. The family returned at 6:30 p.m. for the funeral service, which started at 7 p.m. in the Biereley-Hale Chapel with Rev. Gale Miller officiating.
Interment was at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at Notchey Creek Cemetery.
By adhering to the health and business operation guidelines by the CDC & the Governor’s Office for Services, guests were asked to continue social distancing, wear masks and use frequent hand washing.
