Melvin A. Hyman, age 88, of Madisonville, passed away on Monday morning, June 22, 2020, at Sweetwater Hospital.
He was born in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, to the late John and Lula Ethel Hill Hyman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in the Korean War. He attended the Assembly of God in Vonore until his health prevented him from attending.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Graves Hyman; a cousin who raised him, Viola Hyman Parrish and her husband Clarence Parrish; as well as brothers, Herman, Lloyd, Elvis, David and Raymond.
Survivors include: his brothers, Harold Hyman, of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Jessie Hyman, of Elk City, Oklahoma;
Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family received friends on Thursday, June 25, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville. Graveside service and interment was on Friday, June 26, 2020, at 3 p.m. at Knob Creek Cemetery in Seymour with Rev. Tommy Self officiating.
