Cecil Austin Hicks, age 74, of Madisonville, gained his wings at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter and farmer by trade for many years.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Austin and Cora Isbill Hicks; and his great-granddaughter, Madelyn Brannam.
Survivors include: his wife, Jane Humbert Hicks;
Daughters, Janet Hicks Brannam, Jennifer (Jeff) Gibson, Stephanie Hicks, Suzanna (Greg) McNabb, and Kristy Sanford;
Grandchildren, Josh (Cami), Zach (Katelyn) and Shania Brannam, Jeff II and Jenna Gibson, Hunter Hicks, Logan, Jessica and Tristian Daniels, Mandalyn and Mason McNabb;
Great-grandchildren, Mason, Daxton, Kimber and Carson Brannam, Adalee Hicks, Kiara, Kayden and Nevaeh Daniels;
Sisters, Mildred Martin, Margaret (Frank) Land, Geraldine McKeehen, Hilda (Nolen) Gross, and Sharon Smith;
Brothers, Grayson (Margaret) Hicks, and Eddie (Robin) Hicks;
Several nieces & nephews.
A graveside service and interment was held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at Watson Chapel Cemetery with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post 5156, D.A.V. 93, and American Legion Post 106.
