COVID forces cancellation of benefit concert
To the editor,
I wanted to take this opportunity to inform folks in Sweetwater and the surrounding area that my 14th annual Benefit Veterinary Piano Concert has been canceled for this year.
It was scheduled for Saturday, March 6. The coronavirus has changed all of our lives and Gov. (Bill) Lee’s executive order prohibiting crowds of larger than 10 people at this sort of public gathering has made canceling this year necessary.
I have already learned three new songs and have several new tales. I’ll just have to save them for next year.
I really appreciate everyone who has come to my concerts in the past and I hope that I may have another one next year, if not before. Everyone coming to my concerts has helped raise funds for the Prostate Foundation, local Boy Scouts troops and the Sweetwater Valley Citizens for the Arts.
If anyone would like to contribute to any or all of those wonderful causes, they are welcome to send a check made out to the Sweetwater Valley Citizens for the Arts at SVCA, city hall, 203 Monroe Street, Sweetwater 37874.
Thanks in advance.
I am sorry that I have to cancel my concert for this year, but hope to have another one next year, if not before.
