Tellico Plains bounced back from Friday night’s defeat by besting Rhea County 53-47.

The Golden Eagles’ 47 points were the lowest the Bears have held a team to since Nov. 23 when they beat Oakdale 58-24.

Evan Harris led Tellico Plains in scoring for the third time this season — scoring 19 points. Harris did most of his damage in the first two frames, knocking down 12 points from the floor as well as a 3-point play.

Jace Lynn finished with 12 points, two short of matching his season high. Lynn picked up the pace for the Bears with 10 second half points.

The Bears shared the scoring on the night. Eli Johnson had six, Marshall Dukes had five, Major Carter and Logan Cox both finished with four and Ethan Teague contributed with two points.

The Bears return to action tonight as they host Greenback and district play on Jan. 14, hosting Copper Basin.
