The Tellico Plains Lady Bears rose in the Tennessee AP Class A Girls’ poll this week.

The Lady Bears climbed up into ninth place, previously 10th the week prior, and have also received one first place vote.

Only four teams in Class A have received four first place votes — Gibson County (11), Summertown (1) and McKenzie (1).

The Lady Bears’ (19-0) week brought in more battled tested wins — including wins at Hiwassee Dam and over Polk County.

Tellico plains received 43 points in the poll, five behind eighth place Trenton-Peabody. Gibson County (27-1), the first place team, received 135 points.

McKenzie (1) (23-1) 111 pts.

Clarkrange (21-5) 88 pts.

Loretto (15-6) 69 pts.

Van Buren County (21-2) 65 pts.

Trenton-Peabody (22-5) 48 pts.

Tellico Plains (19-0) 43 pts.

Jo Byrns (15-2) 29 pts.
