Sequoyah dropped the District 5-AA Tournament consolation game to Polk County 49-40 on Feb. 22.

Powered by three 3-pointers, Lynsey Gunter led the Lady Chiefs with 18 points.

On the road, Sequoyah led 32-25 at the break and 38-33 entering the fourth quarter before being outscored 16-2 in the final period.

The Lady Chiefs' only points in the fourth quarter came from an Olivia Underwood and Jesee Weese free throw each while Polk County's Callie Brewer went 10-for-10 at the line in the same time period.

Following Gunter's 18 points, Abbey Borden finished with six points and Brooklyn James added five points.

Borden and James were named to the District 5-AA All-Tournament Team.

Sequoyah will travel to the District 6-AA champions — either Brainerd or Signal Mountain — in the Region 3-AA Quarterfinals on Friday.
